Job description
Work as a Healthcare Support Worker (Band 3) at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, based in the Minor Injury Unit at Kidderminster General Hospital. This permanent, part‑time role (24 hours per week) offers shift patterns of 07:30–20:00 and 10:00–22:30 to cover the unit’s opening hours of 08:00–22:00. You will support Emergency Nurse Practitioners with hands‑on clinical care — wound closure, dressing changes, plaster application, eye washouts, observations and completing NEWS2/PEWS scores — while also carrying out reception and clerical duties. Basic life support, manual handling and other on‑the‑job training are provided, and new staff are expected to complete the Care Certificate standards within 12 weeks. Salary is within Agenda for Change Band 3 (£24,937–£26,598). Please only apply if you can meet the shift requirements.
This opportunity is ideal for experienced carers or those with urgent care, emergency or acute hospital experience who want a practical, varied role that blends clinical practice with patient‑facing administration. The unit values clear communication, teamwork and compassion — qualities many women carers already bring — and the Trust is Timewise‑accredited for flexible working, supporting work–life balance and ongoing development. If you’re looking for a supportive, skill‑building role in a busy nurse‑led setting, find this vacancy on jobsincare.com and click the "Apply Now" button alongside this listing to submit your application.
