Nacro’s CAS‑2 Housing Support Worker role in Plymouth (covering Plymouth and Cornwall) offers a permanent, full‑time position within a Ministry of Justice‑commissioned programme that supports low/medium‑risk people on bail or home detention curfew and helps prison leavers re‑establish crime‑free lives. You’ll be on-site across a rolling rota between 08:00–22:00 Monday–Friday with Saturdays 09:00–17:00, working 40 hours per week (including 5 hours paid lunch), and earning £26,584 pa (£25,584 base + £1,000 unsocial hours). The day‑to‑day combines practical property management and tenancy support — ensuring homes meet the Decent Homes Standard and dealing with repairs — with person‑centred work such as assessing needs, creating safety plans and helping with housing applications, benefits and rent payments, while liaising with probation, courts and housing authorities.

This role is well suited to resilient, emotionally intelligent carers and problem‑solvers — particularly women looking for meaningful, steady work that respects home life and develops transferable skills. Nacro offers training, a supportive team culture and flexible working between property visits; benefits include 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, occupational sick pay above statutory levels and mileage at 45p per mile. Applicants need a full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle with business cover and must pass enhanced DBS and prison clearance; lived experience of the criminal justice system is welcomed and a conviction will not necessarily bar you.
