Make a practical, hands-on difference as a Housing Support Worker with Nacro in Sheffield, covering South Yorkshire. This permanent, full‑time role (40 hours per week, including a paid 5‑hour lunch break) sits within the Ministry of Justice‑commissioned CAS‑2 programme, supporting people on bail, home detention curfew or returning from custody to re‑establish crime‑free independent lives. The post pays £26,584 per year (£25,584 base + £1,000 unsociable hours), operates on a rolling rota with contract provision between 08:00–22:00 Monday–Friday and Saturday 09:00–17:00, and is on‑site only. Interviews are ongoing and multiple vacancies are being recruited; closing date 23 November 2025.

You’ll split your time between supporting service users (assessing needs, safety planning, housing and benefits support, rent management) and ensuring properties meet the Decent Homes Standard, while working closely with probation, courts and housing teams. This role suits resilient, emotionally intelligent people — especially women and carers with strong interpersonal and organisational skills who want purposeful work and a healthy work–life balance. Essential requirements include a full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle with business car insurance (mileage reimbursed at 45p per mile), and enhanced DBS plus Prison Clearance; Nacro welcomes applications from those with lived experience of the criminal justice system and operates as a Disability Confident employer. Benefits include 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, enhanced occupational sick pay and flexible working options (such as working from home between property visits).
