In this role you will be a key part of facilitating this research. You will be an integral part of a team of clinical trial senior pharmacists who provide a high-quality dispensary and production service, thereby giving access to new, ground-breaking treatments to patients via study protocols. The postholder will demonstrate leadership, oversight, finance, risk assessment, audit, and inspection skills. A GPhC-registered, pharmacist with at least 2 years’ post registration experience in an NHS hospital healthcare setting would be well suited. The post holder will be well supported by the Highly Specialist and Principal Research Pharmacists.

The post-holder will work as part of the UCLH clinical trials team to provide the pharmacy input and management of clinical trials across all sites in a manner consistent with Good Clinical Practice GCP requirements and other relevant guidelines.

  • Plan and participate in the risk assessment of clinical trials with respect to systems, patients, and staff at UCLH
  • Participate in clinical trial feasibility assessment meetings, to communicate feedback for our services for safety, capacity, and capability.
  • Support the day-to-day smooth running of the operational and dispensary functions of the pharmacy clinical trials team.
  • Support with the mentoring and development of the clinical trial technical team.
  • Monitor the progress of clinical trials in set up or undergoing amendment, and support or escalate as needed to maintain agreement timeframes.
  • Provide advice to the wider research community when appropriate and escalate to senior pharmacists when appropriate.
  • Participate in the management and development of the pharmacy clinical trial service at UCLH
