Yorsexual health are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and passionate Healthcare Support Worker to join our well established team in Northallerton.Do you want to be part of welcoming and supportive team? Then this is the job for you!
This is an exciting opportunity to develop skills as the post is a progression from Band 2 to Band 3 role within the service . This contract is for up to 24 hours per week.
Please note that cross site travel is a requirement for this rol
e.
Our successful candidate will assist clinicians with; examinations, management and treatment of STIs, including HIV and provision of contraception, as well as obtaining samples, blood taking, chaperoning and supporting administrative services when required.
Experience within sexual health is not required, but a drive to learn and develop a key part of our services is. Training provided includes Microscopy, assessing patients, chaperoning skills, testing and Phlebotomy Upon completion of these competencies you will progress to a Band 3.
Our service covers York and North Yorkshire and the role may involve travel, so the ability to be able to transport yourself is desirable. Adaptability is essential in an ever-changing service. Working patterns include evenings and Saturdays.
Our Candidate Will Demonstrate
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- IT skills.
- An understanding the importance of confidentiality and respect for all staff and patients.
