NHS Highland is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Psychologist to join their Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service in Inverness. In this role, the Assistant Psychologist will support service delivery across various teams, working under the guidance of an experienced Clinical Psychologist. The position offers a diverse workload and the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues located at The Phoenix Centre, adjacent to Raigmore Hospital. We are in the fortunate position of attracting many new members of staff to our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service over the past couple of years. We are proud of the developments we have been able to achieve together as a growing multidisciplinary service. There is an energy and optimism that we can continue to see our service grow and continually improve for the children and young people we serve, but there is a lot of work still to do. We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic applicant to join our service as an Assistant Psychologist.
Our assistant psychologists support service delivery across all of our teams, and so should expect to have a varied workload, supported by an experienced Clinical Psychologist. Whilst we have many different specialties within our service, we have the advantage of all being located in The Phoenix Centre, next to Raigmore Hospital, providing opportunity for both support and learning from colleagues across the service.
The Highlands are a playground for those loving the outdoors. If you are not active coming here, you run the risk of becoming that way! There is stunning geography for you to explore but also urban amenities like Eden Court Theatre, restaurants, bars and shops in Inverness. If you enjoy (or see the benefit even!) of loch swimming, there are opportunities to go after work with the hardier members of our team.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
