Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly enthusiastic and motivated individual to join the Emergency Department as a Housekeeper. The hours are 37.5 hours worked per week.
Starlight Unit provides care for a large number of paediatric patients and is a busy, demanding and exciting service. As a member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team you will be required to provide skilled, flexible support to the Nursing staff across all duties as prescribed by trained staff, in accordance with Trust policies and Guidelines. You will be required to give comprehensive and clinical support to staff in delivering high standards of patient care.
As a Housekeeper you support the senior nursing team by ensuring the ward is clean, safe, comfortable and conductive to patient care, this is beneficial for both patients and their visitors.
This is a busy, physically active role which requires excellent communication , interpersonal skills & IT skills. If you are highly motivated, work well within a team environment and hold the essential skills and experience please apply and join our successful organisation.
Main duties of the job
- You will assist in catering for patients, ensuring that their individual nutritional needs are met.
- Liaise with other departments as appropriate.
- Support ward accreditation and audit
- Ensure all defects are logged via the appropriate Help Desk. Report, record, and signed off once completed.
- Ensure any all essential and non-medical equipment is in a clean condition and available for use.
- Ordering of equipment and uniforms
- Under taking audits such as room temperature recording and fridge temperature recordings on a daily basis.
