The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust is seeking a motivated and confident individual for the role of Band 6 Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse in the Emergency Decision's Unit (EDU). The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, thrive in a fast-paced acute healthcare environment, and be passionate about maintaining high-quality nursing standards. The EDU handles diverse patient pathways, including mental health crises, head injuries, and post-trauma care, and consists of 12 beds and 6 chairs. Key responsibilities will include assessing and implementing evidence-based nursing care, supervising junior staff, mentoring students, and ensuring effective resource utilisation while adhering to confidentiality protocols.

The role involves acting as a clinical leader, contributing to service improvements, and coordinating patient care to ensure continuity. The Deputy Sister will also support the Department Manager in staff allocation, recruitment, and maintaining professional standards within the ward. Overall, the position emphasises exceptional nursing leadership, patient care quality, and staff development to meet the needs of patients, service users, and their families.
