Responsibilities include managing daytime operations in the labour ward, gynaecology wards, clinics, and theatres, with opportunities for both supervised and independent practice. Candidates may focus on specific clinical areas and can take additional on-call shifts for extra pay.

The position is predominantly based at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and Cheltenham General Hospital. The role includes conducting clinical practice per Trust guidelines, engaging in teaching, and participating in research. Additionally, the post holder will provide care for women in outpatient and inpatient settings, contribute to postgraduate education, and support undergraduate teaching in collaboration with the University of Bristol medical Academy. Mentoring of new physician associates in the department is also encouraged. Annual appraisals will assess skill development in obstetrics and gynaecology.
