The Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is offering paid Assistant Psychologist positions aimed at aspiring clinical psychologists as part of a national initiative to enhance the Psychological Professions. The Trust emphasises diversity and encourages applications from individuals from under-represented backgrounds, including those from ethnic minorities and low socio-economic groups, as well as individuals with caring responsibilities. There are nine available positions: three full-time for 8 months and six part-time (22.5 hours) for 6 months, with supportive supervision, training, and a specialized induction program provided for successful candidates.

In this role, Assistant Psychologists will enhance the service's psychological practices by supporting clinical, training, and research functions. Responsibilities include managing service development projects, maintaining databases and advanced IT for evaluations, assisting in assessment and treatment interventions, and co-teaching psycho-educational courses under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist. Regular supervision and professional development opportunities will be integral to the role, helping candidates work towards becoming qualified clinical psychologists.
