The Lincolnshire Community Health Service NHS Trust is seeking a Health Care Support Worker to join their countywide Integrated Sexual Health (N-LiSH) team, primarily based at Lindon House in Lincoln. The position involves setting up clinical rooms, chaperoning practitioners during examinations, processing samples, and supporting reception and booking services as needed. Candidates are expected to maintain confidentiality and adhere to infection control policies, with training provided for necessary skills such as venepuncture and microscopy. The role is suited for individuals who can deliver quality care and work collaboratively under the guidance of registered professionals.

The Health Care Support Worker will be responsible for a variety of tasks that enhance patient care, including maintaining effective stock control and ensuring clinical waste management. Emphasizing a non-judgmental approach, the role requires a commitment to evidence-based practice, ensuring patients receive safe and individualized care while undertaking administrative responsibilities as delegated by nursing staff. Travel expenses will be covered for clinic visits as necessary.

Lincolnshire Integrated Sexual Health (N-LiSH) services have an opportunity for a healthcare support worker to join their countywide team. This post is mostly based at Lindon House, Lincoln, but there will be an expectation to support other clinics when service demands require. Travel time and expenses are supported.

The role is varied and requires candidates to be non-judgemental and adhere to strict confidentiality policy. Experience within healthcare including venepuncture skills is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided to the successful candidate.

HCSW:

Sets up clinical rooms, chaperones specialist practitioners within clinical examinations and handles and processes samples.

Provides support on an ad hoc basis for reception and central booking line.

Undertakes stock control, ordering of sundries and stock taking duties.

Ensures all infection control policies are met with by ensuring cleaning duties and clinical waste duties are appropriately met.

Will be taught microscopy skills to support in house diagnostic services.

The HCSW will used evidence-based practice to help support and deliver a confidential, quality and cost-effective service in support of and under the direction of a registered professional.They will carry out assigned tasks, appropriate to their role, experience and competence, including direct nursing care and administrative duties as delegated by the nurse in charge and as part of a wider LiSH team.The HCSW will ensure that patients receive safe, individualised and effective care, accepting delegated responsibility appropriate to the role, experience and competency of the post holder.
