Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated and compassionate Senior Anatomical Pathology Technician to join the paediatric mortuary service at Sheffield Children's NHSFT. This Band 6 role involves assisting in the provision of high-quality mortuary services for babies and children aged 12 weeks gestation to 18 years, performing over 450 post mortems annually across multiple trusts and coronial areas. Candidates should possess a Certificate & Diploma in Anatomical Pathology Technology or a Level 3 Diploma, exhibit excellent communication and organisational skills, and be able to handle emotionally challenging situations while maintaining focus and confidentiality.

The successful applicant will manage the efficient operations of the mortuary, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with relevant regulations. The position requires the ability to work independently and participate in an on-call schedule, all while delivering compassionate care in sensitive circumstances. The role contributes to the overall goal of the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Pathology Partnership to improve health outcomes and ensure sustainability in their services.
