Maternity Support Worker (Band 4) in Maternal Medicine — outpatient role at St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Tooting. You will support pregnant women and birthing people with complex medical conditions, working alongside midwives to deliver practical and compassionate care across the antenatal to postnatal pathway. Core duties include infant‑feeding and breastfeeding support, blood glucose monitoring, promotion of pelvic health, vaccinations, diet and exercise advice, parent education, and safe monitoring of vital signs for mothers and babies. Clinical responsibilities also cover phlebotomy, catheter removal, cannula and wound care, infection control, manual handling and accurate documentation. The role involves direct patient contact, supporting and teaching junior staff, and delivering woman‑centred care within a busy outpatient maternal medicine service.
