Ward Support Worker (Child Health) | Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Job details Posting date: 15 October 2025 Salary: Not specified Additional salary information: £24,465 pa pro rata Hours: Part time Closing date: 14 November 2025 Location: Basingstoke, RG25 9NA Company: Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Job type: Permanent Job reference: 7467625/251-FCSS7625-SUPP Apply for this job Summary • To assist with meeting the needs of parents and carers on the inpatient ward. • To orientate families to the unit and hospital environment and facilities • To organise the ordering and serving of patient meals. • To collate information from friends and family questionnaire. • Welcome patients to the ward in a friendly, professional manner, orientating them and their families to the ward and hospital where necessary. • Be responsible for the management and storage of ward food supplies. • Carry out weekly audits for cleanliness in key areas. • Assist in ensuring that children/young people receive appropriate food and to serve meals. • To assist the nursing staff in promoting family centred care. • To ensure parents kitchen and parents rooms are clean and stocked up daily. • To keep parents’ information board up to date with relevant information. • To collate information for friends and family test for G2. • To contribute to the maintenance of a safe environment, to check all fridge temperatures on a daily basis. • To act as fire warden for the unit.
