We are looking for a dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team in the Welcome Treatment Centre at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. In this role, you will assist in the care of patients undergoing a range of treatments including Haematology and Oncology chemotherapy, Gastroenterology, Rheumatology, and supportive therapies such as blood product transfusions. Working under the supervision of our experienced Registered Chemotherapy Nurses, you will play a vital part in ensuring patients receive safe, compassionate, and efficient care throughout their time in the unit. This is a hands-on role that will involve a variety of clinical and support tasks including: • Taking and recording patient observations • Weighing patients • Performing venepuncture and cannulation • Assisting with personal care needs • Supporting the safe flow of patients through the unit • Performing ECGs (training provided) • Stocking patient trollies and managing sharps disposal • Collecting blood products (training provided) You will be part of a multidisciplinary team in a busy day case setting, where no two days are the same.
