Band 2 Healthcare Science Support Worker – Point of Care Testing, based with North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust in Stockton-on-Tees (TS19 8PE). This full-time, contract role (£24,465 pro rata) sits within the combined University Hospitals Tees service and requires travel between trust sites, smaller community units and primary care. Working under the Pathology Support Service Lead you will help manage and maintain POCT devices, troubleshoot faults, support clinical users, carry out departmental administration, monitor stock and help deliver EQA schemes. You’ll handle equipment such as Roche Cobas b123 and Radiometer ABL90 blood gas analysers, AccuChek and Nova glucose meters, CoaguChek INR meters, V-Trust ketone metres and HemoCue Hb metres, so practical, methodical thinking and good communication are essential. The role suits people who can work independently as well as part of a small team and who enjoy practical, hands-on tasks in a clinical setting.
