Support people with learning disabilities across Mencap’s residential and supported living services in Thetford, delivering hands-on, person‑centred care that makes everyday life richer. At £12.21 per hour, this role involves personal care, manual handling, and specialist support such as PEG feeding and epilepsy care, using Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) to enable safe, respectful outcomes. You’ll help with daily routines and join people on outings and activities — from arts and crafts to cinema trips, sensory sessions and occasional weekend breaks — so every shift brings variety, meaningful moments and real responsibility. Full‑time, part‑time and relief contracts are available, with day shifts typically between 7am–10pm and waking nights from around 9/10pm–7am, so flexibility works in your favour; previous experience isn’t essential as full training is provided.

Mencap offers a supportive, inclusive workplace that fits carers who value practical, compassionate work and a team that learns together. Benefits include 24 days’ holiday (pro rata, excluding bank holidays), staff discounts, health cash plans, interest‑free loans and ongoing development — plus the security of working for a Disability Confident employer. All positions require an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and the legal right to work in the UK (this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship).
