Support people to live independently in and around Bury St Edmunds as a Male Support Worker with Mencap. This part‑time, permanent role pays £12.21 per hour and sees you supporting three gentlemen in their own homes, helping with cooking, household tasks, laundry, managing finances and medication. You’ll be out in the community most days — from gym sessions and garden centre visits to arts and crafts, charity shop volunteering and occasional summer sailing — so a full driving licence is essential. Shifts cover days, evenings and weekends, but rotas are planned six weeks in advance to help you balance work and life.

Mencap provides full training, day‑to‑day support and a strong, inclusive culture as a Disability Confident employer, plus benefits such as 24 days’ holiday (pro rata), retailer discounts, health cash plans and interest‑free loans. No previous experience is required — what matters is patience, reliability and a caring attitude. If this sounds like the right move for you, find the vacancy on jobsincare.com and click the "Apply Now" button that appears alongside this description to start your application.
