Waking night support worker (female only) — part time, PR3 (Preston). UKCIL seeks a compassionate female waking night worker to provide 2:1 care for a lovely young woman with an acquired brain injury and epilepsy in her family home. This permanent, part‑time role is two 12‑hour night shifts (Mon & Tues, 21:00–09:00) working alongside another night support worker. Pay is £16–£17 per hour (dependant on experience) plus a £2/hour weekend uplift. Due to the personal care needs and the family’s wishes this post is open to female applicants only; an enhanced DBS, full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential because of the rural location. No previous experience is required — full training will be provided — and you’ll be part of a friendly, supportive team. For full details and to apply, please click the "Apply Now" button beside this advert (also listed on jobsincare.com).

The role involves close overnight monitoring (with particular attention to seizure activity), safe use of hoisting equipment, personal care and repositioning, PEG medication administration, assisting with feeding and night routines, and helping to keep the client comfortable and settled — sometimes by reading Christian books or playing Christian music as part of her routine (no requirement to share the same faith, simply to be respectful and comfortable supporting it). The work is physically and emotionally demanding, so manual handling capability and resilience are important; training includes acquired brain injury, epilepsy awareness, PEG medication administration, manual handling, safeguarding, MCA/GDPR and more. Benefits include a pension, sick pay (one week full pay then SSP), ongoing professional development and the opportunity for extra hours or day cover when available. If you’re a caring, discreet and reliable woman who wants to make a real difference, click "Apply Now" to submit your application via jobsincare.com.
