Help adults move from crisis to stability as a Support Worker with Vacancy Filler in St Albans. This full-time, permanent role (37.5 hours per week, rota basis) is based across two services — Martin House, with self-contained flats and shared gardens, and Hatfield Road, a smaller, hands-on setting supporting five residents. You’ll draw up person-centred support plans and encourage day-to-day independence through cooking, cleaning and budgeting, support access to healthcare and appointments, deliver creative activities, and maintain a safe, positive environment. The post pays £25,857 per annum and requires flexibility for weekday, weekend and bank-holiday shifts, a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (business insurance required if successful). Previous support work experience, strong communication, reliability and a commitment to equality and person-centred care are essential; a structured induction, comprehensive training and the chance to gain an accredited vocational qualification are provided.
