Support Worker - Gloucester Job details Posting date: 05 November 2025 Salary: £12.40 per hour Additional salary information: £12.40 an hour Hours: Full time Closing date: 20 December 2025 Location: Gloucester, GL1 5JL Company: NHS Jobs Job type: Permanent Job reference: EApply for this job Summary Role Responsibilities Encourage the people we support to participate in activities or follow their interests, this will involve assisting them in the community as well as helping them to attend appointments. Assisting people to be as independent as they can, whether this be supporting them to learn to cook or prompting them to develop personal care skills Encourage the people we support to follow their personal planned strategies to maintain their emotional wellbeing and mental health. Ensure all records are update and procedures are followed at all times Role Requirements A good communicator and listener A desire to support individuals with complex needs. Good basic comprehension of English language including basic literacy and numeracy skills. An ability to remain calm and level-headed even when faced with challenging behaviours. A commitment to constantly providing the highest standards of care for the people that we support. At least 6 months experience of working with people with Learning disabilities and Mental Health
