Lead Occupational Therapist at Active Care Group’s Woodlands Neurological Rehabilitation Centre in York — a full‑time, permanent post with a salary of circa £49,000. You will lead and manage a specialist occupational therapy service while holding a complex clinical caseload as an autonomous practitioner: planning person‑centred treatment programmes, supervising and appraising junior therapists, students and therapy assistants, and contributing to service development, clinical audit, risk management and safeguarding. The caseload covers neurological conditions, polytrauma, amputation and catastrophic injury across NHS, private and medicolegal referrals, with a focus on meaningful longer‑term goals (from family activities to vocational aims) and access to advanced kit such as Luna, Exo Motus and Arm Motus. The service is expanding outpatient pathways to improve continuity of care and widen community access beyond inpatient stays.

This role is for an experienced, HCPC‑registered occupational therapist with substantial neurorehabilitation or complex care experience and proven leadership skills; an Enhanced DBS is required. Active Neuro values creativity, professional autonomy and collaborative practice — you’ll have personalised CPD, specialist training, cross‑site forums and partner links with organisations like Headway and the Spinal Injuries Association. Benefits that support life outside work include birthday off, 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, an Aegon pension with 5% employer match, access to a Medicash health plan, a free 24‑hour Employee Assistance Programme, enhanced sick and maternity pay, the Active Learning Hub and a refer‑a‑friend reward. The role is particularly welcoming to women returning to practice or carers seeking a supportive leadership post that makes a visible difference.
