This permanent, full‑time role is suitable for experienced HCAs and those new to care: new starters will be supported to complete Band 3 competencies and, once successful, progress into a Band 3 role (initially paid at Band 2 until competencies are met). You will undertake a range of delegated clinical duties — routine maternal observations, blood pressure and ECG recording, MRSA screening, assisting with personal care and mobility, and supporting patients’ and newborns’ nutrition and hydration — working under the ward manager’s supervision in a busy, diverse east London setting where teamwork and compassionate, person‑centred care are essential.

The post offers a salary around £29,651–£31,312 per annum (pro rata) and requires flexibility for shift work, which may include nights and weekends; the trust is open to conversations about flexible working to fit caring commitments. Barts Health is one of the country’s largest NHS Trusts, committed to staff development, safety and inclusive WeCare values — you’ll receive on‑the‑job training and ongoing support to build competencies and confidence.
