Make a real difference caring for orthopaedic patients as a Trauma & Orthopaedics Healthcare Support Worker with Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, based at Poole Hospital (role due to relocate to Royal Bournemouth in Spring 2026). This permanent, part‑time post is advertised at Band 3 (£24,465–£26,598 pa pro rata) though applicants without care certificate competencies will start at Band 2 and progress once accredited. No prior experience is required — you’ll receive a bespoke induction, on‑ward mentors, support through the Care Certificate and fully supported training to build confidence and skills. The role requires flexibility across shift patterns, including nights, weekends and bank holidays, and candidates will complete a short numeracy and literacy assessment in person as part of selection. Please note sponsorship is not available.

This role suits compassionate carers looking for balance and career development — particularly those returning to work or juggling family responsibilities who value part‑time options and reliable support. University Hospitals Dorset champions inclusive teams and is a Disability Confident employer; there are clear progression routes towards staff nurse training for motivated applicants.
