At The Lodge in Langport you’ll work as a Bank Support Worker providing hands‑on care and companionship to adults with learning disabilities in a warm, homely setting surrounded by Somerset countryside. This flexible bank role covers mixed days and nights and pays £12.21 per hour (plus an extra £2 per hour for overtime), with pension, onsite parking, uniform and 5.6 weeks’ annual leave pro rata on a full‑time basis. Your day‑to‑day duties include supporting personal care and daily routines, following individualised care plans, encouraging independence, monitoring health and wellbeing and liaising with nursing staff and relatives when needed. You’ll also help create a safe, welcoming environment, support mealtimes and social activity and respond quickly to call bells and emergencies.

This vacancy will suit warm, reliable carers — many of whom are women balancing family life, study or returning to work — who hold or are working towards SVQ/NVQ Level 2 or who have transferable experience (6 months’ care experience is preferred but not essential).
