Work as a Casual Family Support Worker for Prison Advice and Care Trust (PACT) based at the visitor centre and visits hall in Coventry (CV23 8AP). In this part‑time, casual contract you will support families visiting people in custody — offering practical help, advice and guidance, facilitating visits and family days, and supporting the play and children’s services and catering provision. This role pays £12.21 per hour and is listed under job reference 1838; the closing date for applications is 05 December 2025.

This post suits people with experience of working with families in challenging settings — especially women with a caring background or anyone used to family‑facing roles such as playwork, childcare or family support. You’ll need good organisational and communication skills, knowledge of safeguarding/child protection, and the ability to work collaboratively with partner agencies. PACT offers a thorough induction, ongoing internal training and a strong package of staff benefits including counselling, cycle‑to‑work, life assurance, eye‑care vouchers and generous leave. The role is subject to a six‑month probationary period and vetting checks (ID, right to work, 3 years’ references, declaration of unspent convictions with risk assessment where appropriate, prison vetting and enhanced DBS). PACT welcomes applications from all, including people with convictions, where appointment is appropriate following assessment.
