Isle of Wight Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join its Adult Safeguarding Team on the Isle of Wight. This permanent, on-site role is full time (37 hours per week) at Grade 10 (£37,955–£40,787 pa). As a qualified Social Worker you will manage a varied caseload, coordinating safeguarding enquiries under s42 of the Care Act 2014, carrying out face-to-face visits, attending safeguarding meetings, co-producing safety plans and preparing detailed reports. You will work closely with adults at risk, their families, advocates and partner agencies, using professional curiosity and evidence‑informed decision making to ensure the voice and personal outcomes of those you support are heard and their wellbeing promoted.

This post will suit compassionate, organised practitioners — particularly women carers and those with hands‑on experience of person‑centred support — who value strong leadership, reflective supervision and a healthy work–life balance. The Council emphasises quality management support and a collaborative island community approach, and is a proud Disability Confident employer (applicants who declare a disability and meet the minimum criteria will generally be offered an interview).
