Job description
Day‑to‑day duties include clinical tasks carried out under the direction of registered staff and, once competent, some independently: venepuncture, newborn blood samples, bilirubin and glucose testing, weighing and calculating neonatal weight change, tube feeding, and supporting infant feeding in line with the UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative. You will recognise and escalate deviations in maternal or neonatal health, support during emergencies, manage documentation and IT systems, take part in health promotion and lone working in the community, and uphold professional standards and safeguarding. Mandatory training, the Care Certificate within 12 weeks and a Trust or external MSW programme within six months are required and supported, with ongoing development and appraisal.
