Lead and shape Hull City Council’s Adult Social Care Occupational Therapy service from HU1 3SA as an Occupational Therapist Practice Lead Manager (Grade 10). This permanent, full-time post (salary £45,091–£48,226) is aimed at experienced Senior Occupational Therapists (Band 6/7 equivalent) who want a senior clinical and operational role. You will be a highly specialist clinician responsible for creating the right conditions for staff to excel, providing day-to-day operational oversight, deputising for the Operational Manager, and offering supervision and clinical governance across registered and unregistered teams. The role may include a small caseload, high-level decision making, quality audits and chairing team meetings, with a clear focus on embedding OT within wider social care practice.

This role is well suited to compassionate leaders and carers — particularly women looking to bring practical caring experience into strategic practice — who value collaborative, rights-based and trauma-informed approaches. You’ll work within Prevention Services including Active Recovery, a six-week reablement programme and See and Solve triage, supporting staff with assessment, moving and handling, adaptations and equipment provision. Hull offers development and progression opportunities, including leadership training and research involvement through the Curiosity Partnership, and a chance to influence service improvement and policy.
