I undertake a range of activities at home and in the community. I adore all things sport related. I also love music and computer games. I’d love my support worker to enjoy these things too. I have cerebral palsy. I use a wheelchair full time and need help with all aspects of personal care and daily living activities. I need assistance to eat and drink as my upper limb function is limited. I have a PEG for top up feeding. I love to chat and interact but my cerebral palsy effects my speech patterns so you sometimes have to help me be understood, I have a communication aid which I use to support correspondence. I have a fully adapted and equipped property and wheelchair accessible vehicle. I need you to help me access desired activities at home and in the community. Some of my desired activities include hydrotherapy in my home pool, attending a gym, running a support group for people with disabilities, attending sporting, musical or theatre events. I need support to do therapy and social and leisure activities. I have a team of support workers and one team leader who you will work alongside. I am currently looking for support for the following shifts: Weekday and weekend day shifts 8am to 8pm and sleeping night shifts. Full Time, Part Time, Bank and Job shares can be considered. You need to have worked with young people like me before and have a full driving licence. £16.00 per hour weekdays depending on experience. £17.50 per hour weekends £12.21 per hour sleeping night shifts This position requires a fully enhanced disclosure request from the DBS. You will also be required to register with the DBS Update Service. Previous applicants need not apply. Interviews MAY be held via Zoom/Skype/other such teleconferencing tools, therefore candidates MUST HAVE the ability to attend interview via these methods.
