At Buttons , we provide residential supported living care to children with complex physical needs & learning disabilities. Supported by a highly trained staff team, the children are encouraged to strive for independence, however that looks for them as an individual. Buttons is a 5 bedded home providing residential care for children and young people with learning disabilities. All staff will be involved directly in the physical and emotional care of children and young people and work in partnership with families and other agencies involved. RCCW will provide support to the Seniors and Managers in taking extra responsibility to maintain and develop documentation required by the registered manager. You will also be required to maintain good staff morale and the promotion of high standards of care and support. What you'll be working: Full time/Part time , your hours are based on a rota working every other weekend. Shifts Morning 7am - 10am Afternoon 3pm - 8/9pm Full Days 8am - 8pm Working every other weekend £26,749.36 Per Annum for full time Contract is 24 to 36 hours Hours per week Flexible with Days & Nights Interview will commence on 25/9/2025 & 29/9/2025 Do any of these shifts look good? If so apply today and we will be in touch. What you'll be doing: Assist and support other staff in the overall management and organisation of the home to ensure its smooth and efficient running. Help to establish an atmosphere in which children / young people can, with good basic structures, be supported, stimulated, and provided with the opportunities to achieve their full potential at the level suitable for the children/young people To be involved in implementing established care plans for the children/young people To be involved in individual and group recreational activities as appropriate. To provide children/young people within the residential home care after appropriate training has been undertaken. Undertake domestic and practical tasks as required. To provide the basic needs of the children/young people including, where appropriate, help with feeding, dressing, toileting and washing / bathing. You will be assigned as a key worker to one of the young person in accordance to current guidelines. Attend and participate in staff meetings, supervision sessions, on annual appraisal and training events. Help the development of community involvement and understanding. Bring to the attention of Seniors the needs of both the children and the establishment as a whole. To undertake any specific tasks delegated by the manager/seniors related to the running of the establishment. To provide Children / Young People with approved complex medical care this is defined as medical care that is appropriately given under medical direction by consultants, GPs and paediatricians with parental consent. To appropriately respond and co-ordinate care requirements with CYP with complex health care needs, including administration of emergency medication. Regular administration of medicine to control complex health care needs. Offer children / young people appropriate care, comfort and control with the highest profession and in accordance with company policy. Provide for the complex needs of the CYPs including, where it is appropriate to do so, assistance with: Feeding (e.g. dietary requirements) Manual Handling Gastroscopy Suctioning Dressing Toileting (including double incontinence CYPs) Washing and bathing Care and control of medical issues, including medication administration We support with catheter care, ventilator support, Oxygen To adhere to all the health and safety policies and practices by the company including documentation of: COSHH, Infection Control, Risk Assessment of individual CYPs, Building and equipment, manual handling and fire safety of the establishment and individual CYPs, safe storage of equipment. To monitor and review any deterioration in line with health and safety of the building which could affect care needs of the CYPs and staff. Actively engage in leisure and learning activities with the CYPs and participate in activities and recreation within the wider community at large for the benefit of the CYPs and to promote independence and life skills. Share in administrative tasks including message-taking, report writing, case Recording, ordering of supplies and or services and the collection and issuing of money. Attend and participate in staff meetings, selected training events and periodic Supervisory sessions as appropriate. What you'll have: Strong organisational, time management, planning and communication skills. Experience with supporting children. Flexible, professional, and positive approach to multi-site working. Proven reliability in terms of full attendance and timekeeping. Ability to work as part of a team and as an individual.
