As a Community Healthcare Support Worker with Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust based at Bridgnorth Community Hospital (WV16), you will visit people in their own homes to deliver planned care and admission‑avoidance support across South East Shropshire. This hands‑on role involves assisting qualified nurses with clinical tasks including phlebotomy (under supervision), obtaining valid informed consent, recording care in patient records and reporting changes in condition to nursing and therapy colleagues. The post is permanent, part‑time with flexible working, Band 2 (£24,465 pro rata), and requires the right to work in the UK (please note we cannot offer visa sponsorship). Travel across a designated area and an enhanced DBS check are required.

This role is ideal for warm, organised carers — particularly women seeking flexible hours, career development and meaningful community work. You don’t need all qualifications straightaway; GCSE English and maths (or willingness to work towards), Level 2 Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards) and the Care Certificate are essential or supported through training and competence development. Good interpersonal and IT skills, calmness in challenging situations and a commitment to teamworking are important.
