Domestic Services Assistant at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, based in Sheffield (S5 7AU). These evenings-only, part-time roles (15, 17.5 or 20 hours) start between 3.30pm and 5.30pm and cover vacancies at Northern General and Royal Hallamshire Hospitals. You will use modern cleaning methods and machinery to maintain high cleanliness standards on wards, undertake barrier cleaning and occasional bodily fluid clearance, and—when trained—support new colleagues as a buddy. Multi‑skilled posts include ward-level food and beverage duties: serving patient meals, keeping ward kitchens tidy and completing Food Safety Level 2 training, with full instruction provided.
This role suits caring, organised people—particularly women balancing family or daytime caring commitments—who want steady NHS employment with practical training and clear progression. It is a permanent, Band 2 post paid pro rata (£24,465 full-time equivalent), subject to a DBS check; GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent experience) and customer‑facing experience are required. The Trust offers staff support, professional development and policies that help balance work and life.
