As a Health Care Assistant at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust (Poplar Grove, Stockport, SK2) you will provide hands‑on, compassionate care in a busy Emergency Department that serves both adults and children. This permanent Band 3 post (Agenda for Change) is available full‑time or part‑time with a salary of £24,937–£26,598 pro rota. Day‑to‑day duties include supporting patients with personal care, nutrition and hydration, observations and safe patient handling, maintaining a clean and safe department, and acting promptly on safeguarding concerns. The role suits experienced carers or those working towards clinical qualifications: candidates must have completed (or be prepared to complete within three months) the National Care Certificate, have or be working towards Level 2 English and Maths (GCSE equivalent), and demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills and prior experience in a similar role.

The Trust offers a supportive, family‑friendly working environment with a comprehensive induction, clear development and progression opportunities, and flexible working considered to help balance caring responsibilities — features that many women carers value. Benefits include 27–33 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, NHS pension membership, staff discounts, salary‑sacrifice schemes, cycle‑to‑work and local financial support via Stockport Credit Union. Stockport NHS Foundation Trust values diversity and expects staff to live its values: we care, we respect and we listen.
