Lead clinical and operational orthoptic services across Queen’s Hospital Burton (DE13 0RB) as Operational Lead Orthoptist for University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust. This Band 8a, permanent full‑time post (£55,690–£62,682) blends expert patient‑facing orthoptic practice with day‑to‑day management — rota and absence management, line management, staff development, handling complex orthoptic cases and resolving operational issues — while working with orthoptics, optometry, ophthalmology and partner organisations to drive service improvements in a busy, research‑active Trust.
