Flexible full‑time or part‑time hours to fit childcare or caring responsibilities
On‑ward development, practice educator, training days and regular supervision
Hands‑on paediatric experience (0–18) across a 19‑bed ward, HDU and SSPAU

Local Torbay Hospital location (TQ27AA) — practical for commuters and local carers
Make a real difference supporting children and young people on Louisa Cary at Torbay Hospital. As a Healthcare Support Worker (Band 3) you will assist registered nurses to deliver family‑centred care for patients aged 0–18 across a 19‑bed ward, HDU, a young‑people area and the Short Stay Paediatric Assessment Unit. Day‑to‑day duties include preparing and reassuring children for procedures, supporting clinical tasks under supervision, maintaining accurate records, promoting safeguarding, keeping the environment safe and clean, and liaising with ED, SCBU and community teams in a fast‑paced acute setting. This is a permanent post with full‑ and part‑time options, Agenda for Change Band 3 pay of £24,937–£26,598 pro rata, and is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
