Work hands-on to keep wards, departments and theatres safe, clean and ready for patients at Royal Bournemouth Hospital with University Hospitals Dorset. As a Housekeeping Assistant you’ll deliver prioritised cleans to support patient flow and maintain the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness 2025. The role involves working alone or as part of a team across clinical and non-clinical areas, following clear procedures and receiving full training and supervisory support. It suits organised, physically fit people who take pride in practical work — you’ll need basic literacy and numeracy (Level 1), the ability to speak English for the role, and the post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check; previous cleaning experience, especially in a clinical setting, is desirable.

These are permanent Band 2 posts offering stable pay (£24,465 per year) and flexible patterns to suit carers and family life: Monday–Sunday 06:00–14:00 (30 hours; 4 days out of 7), Monday–Friday 16:00–22:00 (30 hours) and a mixed rota totalling 35 hours with evening and weekend shifts. Both full- and part-time options are available and interviews are scheduled for 27 November 2025. Please note services may move as part of the Trust’s New Hospital Programme and any relocated base will be treated as a normal commute.
