Based at Medway Maritime Hospital in Gillingham (ME7 5NY), this Specialty Doctor in Children's Emergency Medicine role offers a full‑time, 12‑month fixed‑term contract with a salary of £61,542–£99,216 pa (pro rata). You’ll deliver a strong “shop‑floor” clinical presence in the Children’s Emergency Department, assessing and managing a broad range of acute medical and surgical paediatric presentations, making timely decisions about diagnosis, treatment and disposition, and supporting the four‑hour emergency access standard. The post includes clinical leadership, close liaison with inpatient and tertiary teams, teaching and supervision of undergraduates and trainees, participation in audit, research and governance, and engagement in appraisal and CPD to support GMC revalidation.

This post suits clinically experienced, compassionate doctors with MBBS (or equivalent), FRCS/MRCS (or equivalent), full GMC registration and at least four years’ postgraduate training (including two in a relevant specialty), plus proven teaching and audit experience and comfort with sensitive communication.
