Job summary
You will work directly with the Head of Pharmacy Clinical Trials & Advanced Therapies, providing day-to-day operational support to ensure the service runs smoothly. Responsibilities include:Managing administrative and clerical staffCoordinating trial activity, performance reporting, and budget monitoringSupporting service planning, recruitment, and quality controlActing as a key liaison with internal and external stakeholders including NHS consultants, pharmaceutical companies, and research organisationsYoull also play a vital role in maintaining high standards of research governance and ensuring the service meets performance targets
Main duties of the job
Provide day-to-day operational support to the Head of Pharmacy Clinical Trials & Advanced Therapies to ensure the smooth running of the service.Manage administrative and clerical staff within the Pharmacy Clinical Trials team, including recruitment, performance reviews, and training.Coordinate trial tracking activities, maintaining accurate records of trial status, resourcing, activity, and budgetary information.Support budget management by monitoring expenditure, investigating variances, and maintaining financial records.Ensure performance targets are met by validating trial setup and activity data, updating systems, and implementing action plans.Act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders including NHS consultants, pharmaceutical companies, and research organisations.Lead service improvement initiatives and contribute to modernisation projects across the department.Maintain high standards of research governance, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and risk management protocols.Provide cover for the Head of Pharmacy Clinical Trials & Advanced Therapies during absence, briefing senior managers as needed.Coordinate staffing rotas, manage leave and sickness reporting, and ensure continuity of service delivery.
