Based in Canterbury (CT17EE) with national charity Mental Health Matters, this part‑time Crisis Recovery Worker role is an 18‑month fixed‑term (maternity cover) post working 25 hours a week: five 5‑hour evening shifts, 6pm–11pm. You will provide recovery‑focused, non‑clinical crisis support as an alternative to A&E, working face‑to‑face, by phone and video with people who have mental health needs, autistic traits, learning disabilities, physical health issues or substance misuse. Day‑to‑day duties include carrying out risk assessments and safety planning, offering emotional support and de‑escalation, accurate electronic record‑keeping, signposting and joint working with peer support workers, clinicians, emergency services and partner agencies to promote independence and social inclusion.

This opportunity suits people with experience in community mental health, strong communication skills and the ability to make calm decisions under pressure. Essential requirements are a Level 2 Health & Social Care qualification (willingness to complete Level 3 within 12 months), proven record‑keeping experience, a full driving licence and access to transport; an enhanced DBS will be required. Salary is £25,958–£28,662 pro rata.
