You’ll manage day-to-day switchboard operations, staff and incident handling, and support telephony and paging systems to deliver a high-quality, cost-effective service that protects patient care. The post involves close administrative partnership with the Head of Digital Business & Engagement and the Digital Services team — producing KPI reports, infographics and action plans, helping users get the best from digital systems, and exercising sound judgement during alarms, major incidents or sensitive conversations. You’ll also lead staff coordination tasks such as sickness management, recruitment, induction and workplace training, carry out PADRs, and support the introduction of new telephony systems, all while maintaining confidentiality and professional diplomacy.

This permanent, full-time Band 4 role (Agenda for Change) pays £27,898–£30,615 and is based at Glangwili General Hospital / Prince Philip Hospital (Carmarthen/Llanelli, SA31) with the base to be confirmed; flexible and home/remote working options are available. Essential requirements include a Level 3 business administration qualification (or equivalent), proven clerical/administrative experience — ideally in healthcare — and confident use of Microsoft Office; knowledge of ITIL is desirable. The post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check; Welsh language skills are welcomed and the Health Board offers learning support. Interviews are scheduled for 08/12/2025 and applicants needing skilled worker sponsorship will be considered.
