Make a tangible difference supporting people with co‑occurring mental health, alcohol and drug needs from Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust’s Bexleyheath Centre (DA6 8DX). As a Community Recovery Practitioner (COMHAD) you’ll work under the guidance of the COMHAD Specialist Practitioner to deliver timely screening and assessment, one‑to‑one and group psycho‑social interventions, harm‑reduction and practical substance‑management skills. You’ll champion parity of access, promote physical health and wellbeing, and embody the service’s “no wrong door” approach while working autonomously and alongside hub partners in a person‑centred, holistic way. This is a permanent, full‑time Band 4 post (salary £32,199–£34,876 pa inc) with real opportunities for professional development within a large, values‑driven NHS Trust that prides itself on kindness, fairness, listening and care.

The role suits compassionate, organised carers—particularly women seeking purposeful NHS work—who bring group facilitation experience, confident communication and a good level of education with evidence of continuing professional development. You’ll keep accurate records, contribute to supervision, training, service development, governance and audits, manage resources and apply contemporary substance‑management practice. Desirable qualifications include drug and alcohol training or an NVQ; experience in mental health or lived‑experience caring is welcomed. The post requires a DBS check, UK professional registration and applicants needing Skilled Worker sponsorship will be considered.
