At Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust’s Wexham Park Hospital in Slough, the Physiotherapy Assistant role offers hands-on support delivering rehabilitation across wards including Rehabilitation, Medical, Orthopaedics and the Acute Stroke Unit. You will work alongside qualified physiotherapists under direct or indirect supervision to deliver delegated one-to-one exercise programmes, assist with hydrotherapy, help with personal care tasks like dressing and toileting, escort patients between wards and departments, and keep accurate records using electronic systems such as iPM. This is a ward-based role that can be emotionally and physically demanding at times, so it suits people with caring experience and a calm, practical approach — particularly those already working in care settings or looking to transfer those skills into an NHS role.

This permanent, full-time post is Agenda for Change Band 2 with a salary of £25,768 pa (including HCAS) and offers excellent training, development and flexible working options through an inclusive employer that values work–life balance. Applicants should have good written and spoken English (NVQ/GCSE equivalent), basic IT skills, experience of the UK health care environment and be able to undergo a DBS check; Frimley cannot provide visa sponsorship so you must have the right to work in the UK. As part of your application you will need to explain your understanding of the physiotherapy assistant role, what you would find most challenging and your view of physiotherapy in a hospital setting — these answers form part of the assessment, which will be held face to face.
