Work as a Band 2 Health Care Support Worker in the Surgical Assessment Unit (SAU) at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd, Bodelwyddan (Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board). This role suits experienced carers and those with some hospital or clinical experience who want hands‑on patient work: you will carry out delegated nursing tasks such as bathing, toileting, feeding and last offices, support pressure care and intentional rounding, help with samples and dietary needs, maintain documentation and stock, escort low‑dependency patients and keep the ward environment safe and tidy. You will be expected to spot and report changes in patient condition, respond appropriately in urgent situations and work closely with registered nurses and other health professionals to deliver a multi‑disciplinary approach to care. Permanent contracts are available, full‑time or part‑time, paid at Band 2 (salary £24,833 pro rata), with a Disclosure and Barring Service check required.
This post offers structured training, mentorship and a supportive team environment that values compassion and practical skills — ideal for women carers looking for stability, development and a role that really matters. Betsi Cadwaladr is the largest health organisation in Wales, committed to equality, diversity and the Disability Confident scheme; Welsh speakers are warmly welcomed but both Welsh and English applicants are encouraged to apply. Applications from candidates who require Skilled Worker sponsorship will be considered. This vacancy is listed on jobsincare.com — to apply, please click the “Apply Now” button that appears alongside this advert.

More about the NHS
The National Health Service (NHS) is a cornerstone of healthcare in the United Kingdom, established in 1948 with the simple yet profound principle of providing healthcare to all citizens, free at the point of use. This revolutionary system aimed to ensure that access to medical services would not depend on an individual’s financial situation, a concept that has since become fundamental to British societal values.
