Make a real difference supporting people in acute mental health distress as a Mental Health Care Support Worker with the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Service at St George’s Hospital, Stafford (Band 3, £24,937–£26,598 per year, permanent, full‑time). You’ll work 24/7 shift patterns including nights, delivering urgent response, comprehensive assessments and short‑term home treatment for people aged 16+ across Southwest Staffordshire. Working under senior staff and shift coordinators, you’ll help people set and reach recovery goals through meaningful activity, employment access, physical health checks, social inclusion and daily living support. Duties include accompanying Band 6 clinicians during crisis assessments, contributing to outcome measures and care reviews, and liaising with other Trust services and external agencies. Essential requirements include an NVQ3/Advanced Apprenticeship (or equivalent), experience supporting people with mental health needs (non‑dementia), and a Disclosure and Barring Service check. Please note Home Office rules mean MPFT cannot offer visa sponsorship for Band 2/3 roles; if you require sponsorship your application may be withdrawn.

This role suits caring, resilient people — particularly women looking to apply their empathy and organisational skills in a supportive NHS setting that values development and progression. MPFT is an award‑winning Trust with extensive training, clear routes for career growth and a culture that aims to reflect and support local communities.
