As a Consultant Plastic Surgeon with an interest in hand surgery at The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (Plastic Surgery Specialty - RVI, Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 4LP), you will deliver acute hand trauma care, an elective adult hand surgery service and join the general plastic surgery on‑call rota. The role sits at the heart of a multi‑disciplinary hand team and expects a clinician who can streamline surgical pathways, lead service development and prioritise excellent patient experience. This permanent, full‑time consultant post offers a pay band of £109,725–£145,478, is DBS‑checked and welcomes applicants who have full GMC registration and appropriate hand fellowship training.

The post is ideal for surgeons with logbook evidence of acute and elective hand cases, teaching and research experience, and a readiness to take independent responsibility in a tertiary centre.
