Healthcare Assistant/Trainee with Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust based at Ebor Ward, York (YO31). This permanent Band 3 post supports an 18‑bed female acute inpatient ward and places you at the heart of a multidisciplinary team including nurses, medics, psychologists and occupational therapists. Day‑to‑day you will support nursing and medical staff, deliver meaningful 1:1 engagement, recognise and de‑escalate distress and promptly escalate concerns. The role is available full‑time or part‑time, is subject to a DBS check and requires the Right to Work in the UK; please note this post does not meet eligibility for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Salary is £24,937 to £26,598 pro rata and the ward is located on Haxby Road, York (YO31).

This opportunity is well suited to compassionate carers and women seeking purposeful, team‑based work with real development prospects. If you already hold a Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) and Level 2 literacy and numeracy, you will complete Trust HCA competencies during your probation; if not, a trainee route is available where you will enrol on the Healthcare Assistant Framework and have up to two years to achieve required qualifications (Care Certificate expected within 12 weeks). Strong communication, reliable record‑keeping, time management and the ability to learn approved physical‑intervention techniques are valued; previous HCA experience is desirable but not essential for trainee posts.
