Use your lived experience as a Learning Disability Peer Support Worker to make a real difference at Water Meadow View, a new mental health inpatient unit for adults with learning disabilities in Whittingham, Preston (PR3) opening in Winter 2025. Working with Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust, you will sit alongside the multi‑disciplinary team to provide emotional and practical 1:1 and group support, co‑produce and help deliver occupational therapy groups, encourage meaningful daily occupations, and support patients through admission, therapy, care and discharge. This role is specifically for people with a learning disability and will put the voices of service users at the heart of care – you will also facilitate peer‑led activities, support recruitment and induction, contribute to training and resources, and work with the lived experience quality assurance lead to share feedback and improve services. The role suits caring, empathetic people — particularly women and carers looking to turn personal experience into paid, purposeful work where compassion and everyday skills are genuinely valued.

This permanent, full‑time post is Band 2 (salary £24,465 pa subject to confirmation) and requires a Disclosure and Barring Service check. Basic literacy and computer skills are needed and training will be provided; experience of using inpatient or community learning disability services is essential.
