Swansea Bay University Health Board seeks a part‑time Nuclear Medicine Healthcare Assistant Practitioner at Singleton Hospital, SA2 8QA, for a fixed 12‑month appointment. This Band 4 role (pro rata salary £27,898–£30,615) supports the newly renovated Nuclear Medicine department and imaging/DXA teams. You’ll provide hands‑on technical care including patient cannulation and catheterisation, preparing and escorting patients for scans, clinical data entry and operation of complex imaging equipment. The service includes a radiopharmacy, DXA and SPECT/PET/CT facilities; full training is provided and the department is IPEM‑accredited with links to Swansea University, so continuing professional development is actively supported.
This role suits skilled carers, returning parents or experienced healthcare assistants looking for a flexible, career‑enhancing post. Ideally you’ll hold an HNC/NVQ level 4 science qualification or equivalent experience (BSc students/graduates welcome), be comfortable with IT and anatomy, and hold a DBS check.
