Support older adults with complex mental health and frailty needs across South West Hertfordshire from a base in Watford. You’ll work within the Specialist Mental Health Services for Older People, delivering holistic assessment, personalised care plans and care‑coordination for a defined caseload, with seamless pathways between primary and secondary care for dementia and functional mental illness. This Band 6, permanent, part‑time post (salary £40,617–£48,778 pa pro rata, 5% HCAS included) sits in a multi‑disciplinary team of psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, OT, social workers and fellow mental health nurses; duties include liaison with agencies, supervising or teaching staff and students, and managing challenging situations with compassion and clinical rigour. The post requires DBS clearance and the Trust can consider Skilled Worker sponsorship where needed.

This opportunity suits registered mental health nurses with a degree/diploma and post‑registration experience in adult mental health, mentorship preparation and a willingness to train in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (AMHP or DBT experience desirable). HPFT offers regular CPD, reflective practice, individual and group supervision, academic training and access to wider learning resources within an organisation rated Outstanding by the CQC and driven by values of being welcoming, kind, positive, respectful and professional.
